When wiring up panels, it is often helpful to use quick disconnect plugs on minor 2-way electrical lines such as digital temperature probe lines, SC (cruise/climb) wiring, VP wiring, PTT wiring and audio connections (mic and speaker) to enable easy removal of instruments panels, comings and side panels within the cockpit for maintenance and inspection.

These are best used for signal wiring such as those uses suggested above rather than for power supply wiring that may carry signficant current.

We usually finish them by covering the rear section of the plugs and the start of the wires in heatshrink once wired up.
