Knowing accurately what the air is doing around your glider is one of the keys to successful soaring and cross country. This information can only be provided truly accurately by a properly compensated total energy probe, and a leak free setup. This revolutionary new style of total energy probe has been years in design and development by CARBONaero. It changes the traditional style of vortex-shed sensing to a swept body pressure field design. This new design features very low drag but smooth and consistent TE readings at much higher yaw and pitch values than traditional style TE probes. The unique shape (a registered European design) is lower drag than a T-style probe, despite its looks, and is the key to delivering accurate pressure even when the glider is in turbulent air. Unlike other TE tubes, this design is not affected by excesive yaw, pitch or G loading.
