TT21 Transponder – Smart, Small, and Efficient

The TT21 transponder by Trig is a compact and lightweight solution designed for light aircraft, gliders, and ultra-light aviation. With a smart two-part design, the TT21 offers a reliable Mode S transponder system that’s simple to install and easy to operate, while keeping weight and space requirements to a minimum.

Compact Two-Part Solution

The TT21 transponder system consists of a separate control head and transponder box, allowing flexibility in mounting. The control head fits neatly into a standard 57mm round hole, or a smaller compact mount hole if required. Even with its wiring harness, the controller is only 85mm deep, while the transponder box can be installed anywhere in the airframe, providing an adaptable fit for different aircraft configurations.

Lightweight and Efficient Design

Weighing in at under 450 grams, the TT21 is an exceptionally light transponder solution that can be powered by an aircraft battery, making it ideal for sport aviation. An in-built altitude encoder further simplifies installation by eliminating the need for additional equipment. With a nominal power output of 130 watts, the TT21 is well-suited for lower altitude and slower speed applications, while its sister model, the TT22, supports higher altitudes and speeds with a 250-watt output.

Easy to Operate

Designed for ease of use, the TT21 features a bright, backlit LCD display, a positive control knob, and intuitive push buttons for easy input of Squawk codes and Flight ID. Its splash-proof controller makes it suitable for open cockpit flying, ensuring reliability across diverse flying environments. The quick-release latch on the mounting tray secures the transponder, allowing for easy removal if necessary.
