Easy to Use
The TY97A’s clear, high-contrast display shows both primary and secondary frequencies along with airfield identifiers. The ‘Push Step’ tuning knob allows swift frequency changes, making it simple to switch from 25 kHz to 50 kHz without diverting attention from your lookout. Dual Watch mode adds the flexibility to monitor two channels simultaneously, as if you had two radios working at once.
Say Again Feature
The TY97A’s ‘Say Again’ button ensures you’ll never miss a message. With a single button press, the last transmission is replayed, reducing the need to ask for repeats. For emergency situations, a dedicated button instantly tunes to 121.5 MHz, the international emergency frequency, while setting optimal volume for clear communication.
Integrated Intercom
With a built-in two-place intercom, the TY97A allows for auxiliary audio inputs, including stereo music and alert notifications. The radio can also sync with compatible GPS systems (using SL40 and GTR225 protocols), automatically displaying pertinent frequencies along your flight route. Additionally, pilots can store over 200 customized frequencies in the airfield database, easily uploaded via the USB port for convenient access.
Product Design
The TY97A’s compact profile makes it perfect for both forward-fit and retrofit applications. The radio requires no additional cooling fans, and its slim dimensions align with legacy systems, such as the KY 196A, KY 197A, and SL40 models, enabling seamless installation in various cockpit configurations.
